Robinson Elementary School 50's Sock Hop to support Kathy B.
We  had a great time .  Fred &Terry, Ron & Bonnie, Ron & Linda, Larry & Janet, and of
course Butch and Chad.  I think I saw Jim and Wayne without their rods.  Food was great
and plentiful.
Those attending the event were:  Butch  Kathy,
Chad & guest, Ron & Linda, Lee A., Mel & Jan, Ken &
Deb, Ron & Bonnie, Alex & Ione, Wayne & Peg, Ray &
Margaret, George & Pearl .  We met at Ron & Linda's
Bonnie had the best poker hand and Ken had the
low hand.  We ventured down to Traver to Bravo
Farms.  Bob & Peggy met us down there.  We enjoyed
looking at all the collectibles, signs of yesteryear, and
all the stuff inside and outside...could spend lots of time
if you tried to see everything.  Since that was the last
stop we  had lunch there, and then to each his own.
A great big thanks to all of you who participated in
the Blossom-less Run.  Even though it was later in the
year, the weather was windy but nice & sunny.   Good
to see George and Pearl out and doing well; hope they
enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed the time with them.

Thanks to Ron and Linda for providing a delightful
array of food and coffee for the early departure.  The
setting is gorgeous and we did see some POPPIES IN
FULL BLOOM.  What a lovely view from their place.
    WOW!

Thanks again to Alex and Ione for their help and
support in planning etc.  It appeared that a good time
    was had by all.

Cam Twisters Minutes                                                                                               March 10, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 P.M.
Members not present were: Dee Ann, Connie, Linda, Sharon.    Bonnie read the minutes from the
February meeting.   There was a correction to the minutes.  Bob C. and Wayne were at the meeting for
the car classes. Leslie read the treasurer’s report.  Ron F. motioned to accept the treasurer’s report and
Bob C. seconded it.

Old Business

Peggy brought fliers with the car classes they decided on at the meeting. The fliers were passed out to
everyone and we went over the changes.  Leslie suggested that we charge $25 for early entry fees and
$30 the day of the show.
It was discussed and Ron F. motioned we charge $25 and $30.  Alex seconded it.
George said they are having a problem with the T-shirts.  Mel and Jan know a man that might do it.  They
will check with him and have him contact George.  Lee also knows someone that will do it.  He charges
$75 for the art work and $100 set up fee. Then for 2000 shirts it is $6.50 a piece and $7.75 for the Hanes
Beefy shirt.  It was discussed that we might do something other then T-shirts such as buttons or mugs.
Ken will head a committee to get some items and costs and bring them to next month’s meeting.  Gary
Black will do the music for the car show again.  Bob C. will check with the man that did the posters last
year.  It was suggested that we charge $30 for the merchant’s awards.  Sharron T. motioned that we
charge $30 and Jim seconded it.  We voted and it was approved.
John read the proposed changes he made to the bylaws regarding new members and the size of the club.
Prospective Members Old version:  Applicant will be voted upon by the members present.  Five “no
votes” by the club members present constitutes denial for membership.    New version:  Applicant will be
voted upon by the members present.  A majority for acceptance constitutes membership.     Size of Club
Old version:  The club shall limit membership to 25 families or 50 voting members.  New version:  The
club shall limit membership to 50 voting members.
Ron F. motioned to accept the changes and Butch seconded it.  It was voted on and approved.

New Business

Kathy announced that her school is having a 50’s theme sock hop and they want some old cars to be
there.  It will be held on 2 nights in April from 5:30 to 7:30 and dinner from DiCicco’s will be served.
Ron F. asked who would be interested in the Buffer Class he mentioned last month.  Members interested
were Butch, Bob C., Ken, Larry, Alex, Frank, and maybe George.
Peggy read the names of the people she has rooms for at Bakersfield and asked that they let her know if
they are not going and if anyone else wants to go.
Ray said the Blossom Run will be on 3/29/09.  It will start at Ron R. house at 8:30 A.M. and end at Bravo
Farms in Traver.
Bob C. announced that John Lawson is having a car run on 4/11/09.  Everyone will go to his museum and
see the cars.  Then to a place in Selma where there are some race cars.  It will end up at his restored
barn on Sample Road for a BBQ.  He has invited the Cam Twisters to come if they are interested.
Fred said he has some sponsors and can guarantee at least $2000.00 for trophies
Sharron T. motioned that we give trophies for 3 places.  Ron R. seconded it.
Ken said he went to a meet in March with the white Camaro and he broke one one hundredth seconds.
George said some of the members went to the Sanger Car Show and George T. won best paint, John
Lawson won best interior and George Shahinian won best hot rod.

Yes that's the group.  And we had a wonderful time.  The
weather was great, the ship was beautiful, the food plentiful,
the company awesome.  We all cleaned up really well for the formal nights on
board.  The land excursions were very interesting.  From walking tours to vans we
made it work.  The men were
very patient with the ladies while we shopped.  The
on board help was just that VERY HELPFUL.  Its a trip the we will remember for the
rest of our lives.                   Janet
The most fun I had on the Camtwisters
cruise was watching everyone have a great time, and
the ladies shopping for gifts, and
the men going with the ladies to shop, and
all of us eating the good food.
Leroy
What a great time we
had at
Senor Frog's
Just ask any of us I'm
sure we can tell you a
funny story.
I know I can!!!.
A funny story:  When we were playing cards and Bob decided to get Leslie an ice cream
cone.   he delivered it to her .  the top of the chocolate and vanilla cone started to fall off and
Lesile caught it with her hands.  it landed chocolate side up and looked like she was holding
something else that looks chocolate.......      Peggy
It was kind of funny when we gals went out on the 14th deck of the ship and
the wind was blowing so hard we were running the jogging track whether we
wanted to or not.  It was good Janet was carrying her lap top and I was
carrying the dominoes or we might have been a couple of "flying nuns" aka "
flying Cam Twisters".                Sharron

From the Thomas Twisters:
We went to the Eastern Caribbean (Samana, Dominican Republic, ST. Thomas,
U.S.  Virgin Islands, Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas).
All was wonderful.  John's Mom got ill four days out  and was OK
two days later. At 5 a.m. As we docked in Miami Saturday morning I awakened
to see that we had arrived and gotthe same thing. John called medical, they sent
someone who gave me a shot, pills, more pills, powered Gatorade, and to make
a long story short, hid me away until everyone was off the ship  took me off the ship in
a wheel chair, whisked us through customs and immigration without checking
anything, put us in a blacked out Yukon and put us up for free in a
very plush Marriott on the 16th floor where John proceeded to get ill. We flewout
Tuesday.  OTHERWISE THE CRUISE WAS FABULOUS AND I LOVE THE ISLANDS.
